Yearning for a cohesive interior that reflects their personalities, a young established couple called on Studio AK to design their 1,810 square-foot two-bedroom two-and-a-half-bath home at the Urban Glass House in New York City. Originally designed in 2005 by Philip Johnson with interiors by Annabelle Selldorf, the building’s modern appeal challenged the design team to integrate traditional family-inherited pieces within the client’s contemporary sensibilities. Tasked with furnishing the entire home and renovating the kitchen, Studio AK undertook a year-long design process to deliver a space true to their client’s contemporary tastes and needs.
